Post Graduate Salaries Starting at 25,000 a Year   Graduate Salaries Starting at 25,000 a Year Date-310Sat Aug 13, 2011 9:46 am

With a major shift in economic changes over the past few years the employment market has been hit severely. With fewer graduate jobs available many graduates are struggling to find work in a stable environment. However, one thing that has been noticed is an increase in the starting graduate salaries. For the first time since 2008 new figures have been displayed by the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) which illustrates a 2% rise in the starting salary which equates to £25,000 a year. It has also known that new job vacancies have increased by 8.9% when comparing the difference between 2008 and 2011.

The chief executive of the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR) Carl Gilleard explained that this is positive news and very encouraging signs for graduates who are leaving university. With an increase in starting salaries as well as the amount of available job vacancies for graduate's, things seem like they are getting better. However, he said he remains cautiously optimisitic about the findings in the data as it displays a glimmer of hope that the graduate recruitment market is breaking through the long lasting effects of the recession.

He also helped listening graduates by providing some useful advice. He explained that all graduates should reflect and take away what they have learnt during their studies, working history and other extra-curricular activities. He said this should then be displayed with conviction in both job applications and interviews, standing out from the crowd to land that ideal graduate role.

Going more in depth he explained that graduates should think about what skills they have picked up during their university history and how this can be easily applied the job they are sought after. Collating their transferable skills and the accompanying knowledge and experience that has been gathered overtime across many different situations should then be applied.

Therefore graduates who are leaving, just left or left some time ago should have a flutter of excitement inside as things could potentially be looking up. Tailoring and revising their CV's to match the job roles they are going after and including the all-important finer details is now, even more so, as must. With the graduate salary starting threshold set so high graduates from all over the country and potentially abroad will look to apply for these roles as relocating to another town, city or country on the promise of a good salary is a necessity. Therefore, be one step ahead of the rest and start searching for that all important graduate job role.

If you're in graduate recruitment or a graduate seeker looking through the list of available graduate jobs then Grad Central are here to help you find or fill the perfect job role with ease.
