Times When SEO Isn't Needed

When a business wants to make their mark on the Internet, the
most common train of thought in creating a website is to put a great
amount of emphasis on marketing. While search engine optimization is a
must for companies who exclusively or even partly do business on the
internet, it may not be the most economical method with regard to some
businesses.
SEO is a method employed to cut through the vast
competition on the internet in order to reach a wider potential customer
base. Online companies who do not employ search engine optimization can
find their website lost in the abyss of World Wide Web, not able to
reach the very people needed to patron their small corner of cyber
space.
Smaller companies who provide goods and or services on the
local level and who do not wish to participate in commerce over the
Internet, often find SEO services a wasteful endeavor in both time and
money. Because these businesses only serve limited local areas, the need
to have a superior web presence may not make practical sense especially
if the company does not rely on the internet to carry out their goals.
The
main goal of even having a website for these businesses could pose more
of an informational purpose than a direct sales strategy. Information
about the company's offerings, such as products, services, operation
times, possible coverage areas, company history, testimonials and even
frequently asked questions can save time for both the company and the
customer alike.
Advertising campaigns, such as the use of Google's
AdWords, can provide a much better return on an investment as the cost
is determined upon a per potential customer basis and is a more targeted
approach as opposed to search engine optimization.
Internet
marketing companies also have a vast array of "free" resources available
to them. In addition to free sources, such as local "white page"
directories or specialized bulletin board websites, that relate to niche
services, Social networking can provide an easy and interactive means
to keep potential local customers abreast of any changes or new services
and promotions offered by a company. Free social networking platforms
can also save on marketing and employee overhead expenses when compared
to paper flyers or other miscellaneous types of other conventional
"spread the word" tactics.
A good Internet marketing company will
always consider the specific needs of their clients. Because all
businesses have a specific goal in mind, there are never any "one size
fits all" solutions available.
